Not only are they debuting new and fresh brands that have a hand in the rising youthful trends of style, but the week (though not exclusively) has a core focus on sustainability. The event’s website states that they “strive towards making substantial changes to the way the event is executed and works to inspire and encourage the industry to take steps toward becoming more sustainable.”

Ahead, find the seven designers who are leading the pack when it comes to Copenhagen Fashion Week and collections you’re about to see everywhere.

Henry Golding—and his Watch—Are Pure Class

Published

Imagine your perfect holiday party. The dream that starts with you gliding into the room, receiving a tumbler full of a brown liquor you happily sip on, and pulling on a velvet jacket with deadly sharp peak lapels. The coup de grâce? A watch: it’s gold, it’s beautiful, it’s inspired by deadly war machines that rumbled through the streets in the 1910s, and it’s made by Cartier. The Cartier Tank is an enduring icon—and for that reason, it’s also the perfect watch for a man like Henry Golding, who oozes Hollywood glamour and classic good looks. And it’s the perfect watch for the season. Even though more elegant watches have largely fallen out of favor as dress codes have eased and men have turned to steel timepieces as their everyday (and evening) companions, there is not a piece that will look better with holiday-party attire—cashmere turtlenecks! velvet jackets!—than a watch like the Tank. Also this week: Ryan Reynold’s wears another great dress watch and Young Thug shows off a very blinged-out Rolex.

Henry Golding’s Cartier Tank

Henry Golding only collects classics. So far in this column, we’ve spotted him wearing the Patek Philippe 5711 Nautilus, an IWC Portugieser, and now a Cartier Tank. The Tank has been a favorite of dozens of celebrities over time. “I don’t wear a Tank to tell the time,” Andy Warhol famously said. “In fact, I never wind it. I wear a Tank watch because it’s the watch to wear.” Golding proves that’s still true in 2019.

Ryan Reynolds’s Chopard L.U.C GMT ONE

This is Chopard’s take on a GMT watch, or one designed to track two different time zones. While brands like Rolex use a two-tone bezel, Chopard ingeniously uses differing shades of chocolate brown and creamy white on the actual face of the watch to create a contrast between time zones. The design gives the watch a dressy look, versus the sportier appearance of other GMTs. Ryan Reynolds actually wears a pair of Chopard watches in his new movie 6 Underground—either the brand made an impression on the actor or he’s so deep in character he still thinks he’s the leader of a vigilante squad set on killing a dictator. Oh, God, someone wake him up!

Travis Scott’s Richard Mille RM011 Asia Boutique Exclusive

There’s a reason athletes like Rafael Nadal and Odell Beckham Jr. are able to wear the Richard Mille while playing in their respective sports. The watches are implausibly light, durable, and often come with a rubber bracelet. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to a Travis Scott show, but the dude gives it all during live performances. His concerts have plenty in common with the most strenuous of athletic achievements—an activity only a Richard Mille like this RM011, which was exclusive to the brand’s Asian boutiques, can survive.

IMDB

Adam Driver/Charlie Barber’s Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39

Marriage Story is a heartbreaking movie about two people slowly falling out of love. But, if you’re a watch-obsessed idiot like myself, you might not have been able to stop wondering what timepiece the auteur playwright, certified genius, one-time Timeout New York cover star, and recent divorcée played by Adam Driver would wear. In the opening of the movie, Scarlett Johansson’s character lists “doesn’t look in the mirror too often” and “doesn’t dress embarrassing” as two of Charlie’s positive qualities, and the simple watch he wears backs that up. It’s an Oyster Perpetual, one of Rolex’s starter watches—one that doesn’t look embarrassing but requires absolutely no fuss.

Anthony Davis’s Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow

This Rolex “Rainbow” is the kind of watch you can only wear when you’re flying high at 22-3, like Davis’s Los Angeles Lakers. This is a fun watch, a celebratory watch: the bezel is covered in 36 baguette-cut diamonds, more diamonds stand in for hour markers, and there are yet more gems along the lugs. Not to mention that the diamonds across the bezel create a rainbow effect to make for what we’ve called the funnest Rolex on the planet. Anthony Davis, playing like an MVP and viable NBA champion, can get away with it.

Joshua Blanchard

Young Thug’s Rolex Sky-Dweller

Underneath all those diamonds, Young Thug is wearing the classic Rolex model: the Sky-Dweller. The 24-hour dial at the middle is supposed to make it easy for the wearer to read the hour at just a glance but I can’t imagine looking down at this watch and being anything but blinded. It seems fitting that Thug wore the watch to the Uncut Gems premiere in Los Angeles—but, we’ll note, sir, that these gems appear decidedly cut.

Tyler C Talks About Not Sleeping With Hannah B on ‘Bachelorette’

Published

  • Tyler Cameron talks about the time when Hannah Brown didn’t want to sleep with him on The Bachelorette, and calls fan response to the scene “scary.”
  • Tyler also just deleted all pics of Hannah from his Insta, which is very interesting…

Please pull up a seat and join me in wondering what the heck is going on with Tyler Cameron and Hannah Brown’s relationship. Earlier this week, Tyler raised eyebrows when he deleted all traces of Hannah from his Insta, including a tribute he posted to her after their appearance on The Bachelorette finale (aka the episode where Hannah asks him out after dumping Jed Wyatt for being a cheater).

And while Tyler’s social media activities seem to signal that he’s moving on from Hannah, he’s still out here talking about the former Bachelorette.

In a new interview with Paper Mag, Tyler revisited the time when Hannah said that she didn’t want to sleep with him during fantasy suites, and he was totally cool with it. But rather than go into what it meant for their relationship, Tyler talks about how he was surprised by the fan response. He says, “She said that she didn’t want to have sex, and I was like, 100%. But the response to that was so big, which is scary…No is no. So it was just honoring her and being true to that. This should be normal. We should not even bat an eye at it.”

Tyler also adds that more men should be adopting this attitude of respect. “Men need to step up,” he says, “Men need to call each other out. That’s what I say my friends are good about: they have no problem calling me out on my shit. They’ll humble me quickly. I think we do need to keep each other accountable and humble each other.”

    Preach, Ty!!

Taylor Swift rings in her 30th birthday party with Jingle Bell concert and cake-themed cake

Published

Taylor Swift celebrated her 30th birthday — or as she put it, “Thirtay” — with a performance at New York City’s Jingle Ball and a cat-themed cake.

On Friday, the “Shake It Off” singer performed alongside The Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, and others at the annual iHeartMedia Christmas concert at Madison Square Garden, reportedly kicking off her set with her 2014 hit song “Blank Space,” later belting out “ME!,” “Welcome to New York,” “Lover,” and her new tune “Christmas Tree Farm.”

According to Rolling Stone, Swift, wearing a sparkly dress introduced herself by saying, “Good evening, New York, I’m Taylor,” then chatted with the crowd. “So I had a choice, you know: Where would I want to spend my 30th birthday?” she said. “And the answer is, you’re looking at it. This is the first show of my 30th year of life.”

Before the show, Swift gave a live tour of her dressing room filled with balloons she revealed were from singer Halsey. And the pop star was treated to an audience performance of “Happy Birthday,” describing it on Instagram as “the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard.”

After Jingle Ball, Swift headed off to her Christmas-themed birthday party. “Happy birthday but make it Santa,” Swift captioned her Instagram photos, some of which featured Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Jonathan Van Ness, Halsey, and Camila Cabello.

The star also shared her epic birthday cake decorated with three cats. Swift owns three herself whom she named Meredith, Benjamin, and Olivia.

The day before, Swift was showered with birthday wishes from Hillary Clinton, Selena Gomez, and Lena Dunham. On Instagram, the former first lady commended Swift for her speech on Thursday while accepting an award for “Woman of the Decade” at Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music event.

In her speech, Swift touched on the drama between herself and Scooter Braun whose company Ithaca Holdings bought her ex record label, Big Machine Label Group, now owning the rights to her earlier music. Swift commented on “the unregulated world of private equity coming in and buying up our music as if it’s real estate. As if it’s an app or a shoe line.”

Clinton quoted Swift as saying, “As for me, lately I’ve been focusing less on what they say I can’t do and more on doing whatever the hell I want.” Then added, “Congratulations on the honor, Taylor (and happy birthday)!” with the hashtag #gutsywomen.
