Could Trump’s Re-Election Go Up in a Puff of ‘Smoke?’ Vapers Say Watch Out

They’re here. They vape. And they say they’ll vote you out of office if you come for their «unicorn poop» flavored vape juice, NBC News reports.

Facing a perfect storm of threats from federal, state and local governments, vapers are banding together politically to defend a product that they claim saves lives and that has created a livelihood for some and way of life for others.

As the Trump administration prepares to roll out new rules as soon as this week on vaping in response to an alarming rise in teenage e-cigarette use and health concerns, hundreds of adult vapers gathered outside the White House on Saturday. They were there to convince people that President Donald Trump could lose his re-election if he alienates a growing constituency that is only just now becoming politically active.

«If Trump bans flavors, there’s a good chance he loses Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida,» said Ryan Hallisey, from Orange County, N.Y., a vape store owner who took part in the demonstration. «He won those so narrowly, and so many vapers, like 80 percent, are single-issue voters.»

Netanyahu rival Gantz fails to form government, prolonging Israel’s political uncertainty

Blue and White Party Leader Benny Gantz speaks during a nomination ceremony on October 23, 2019 in Jerusalem, Israel. Gantz has received a mandate to form a government after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a coalition.

Former military chief of staff Benny Gantz said Wednesday that he could not form Israel’s next government, prolonging the country’s political uncertainty after deadlocked elections in September.

«Returning the mandate» to President Reuven Rivlin raises the prospect of Israel holding its third national election in a year. There are now 21 days in which any member of Parliament can become prime minister if they muster the 61 signatures needed to achieve a majority in the Knesset.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a government last month, after which the mandate was transferred to Gantz.

«Gantz informed Rivlin that he will continue his efforts over the next 21 days to form a good government for the citizens of Israel,» a spokesperson for Gantz told NBC News. «Gantz thanked Rivlin for his support in the process and asked that he continue to provide assistance down the road.»

Wednesday’s announcement followed weeks of negotiations between the two leaders. Gantz had refused to enter a unity government that would keep Netanyahu in power while corruption charges loomed against him.

Netanyahu, dubbed «King Bibi» by many for his decadelong dominance over Israeli politics, is waiting to see whether the country’s attorney general will indict him on fraud and bribery charges in three corruption cases. He denies any wrongdoing.

‘I never in my life had a studio tell me to watch what I’m saying’ [Video]

When it comes to Twitter, Chris Evans has no problem sharing his feelings on the state of the union. In fact, the Avengers alum has more 13 million followers and his tweets tend to incite as much engagement as the president of the United States, who just happens to be one of the erstwhile Captain America’s favorite targets.

Evans, who played Cap in 11 films (including four cameos) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe dating back to 2012, is known for getting political on the platform — in addition to President Donald Trump, Evans has been outspoken about former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke and other conservative voices.

But the 38-year-old actor insists the volume and ferocity of his tweets has nothing to do with him departing the Disney-controlled MCU with April’s Avengers: Endgame.

«I did it during Cap, too; it wasn’t like I waited until that run was over. I was doing it while we were filming those movies,» Evans told Yahoo Entertainment (watch above) while promoting his upcoming film Knives Out, a Rian Johnson-directed whodunit that offers plenty of social commentary amid its sharply comedic mystery intrigue.

«I’ve never felt limited or handcuffed by the roles I play or the studios I worked for. I never in my life had a studio tell me to watch what I’m saying.»

Still, Evans admits that being an entertainer who regularly takes part in political discourse can be «tricky.»

«We live in an industry that’s basically is about ticket sales, and you understand a downstream impact could hurt that,» he said. «But sometimes things matter just too much.»

And besides, it’s not all politics on his timeline. He’s also known to post behind-the-scenes snaps from his tenure on the Avengers films — and plenty pics of his rescue dog, Dodger.

«Who doesn’t love the dog?,» he cracked. «You gotta balance it, you know what I mean? I get political, but I also got a great dog!»

Knives Out opens Nov. 29. Watch the trailer:
