Eva Longoria Opens Up About Increased ‘Amount Of Anxiety’ Since Becoming A Mom

Published

on

After giving birth, a lot of women are eager to get back into the gym, but Eva Longoria was just focused on giving back!

While chatting with reporters at the Eva Longoria Foundation Gala on Friday, the Desperate Housewives alum revealed how her mindset has shifted since welcoming her son Santiago last June with husband José Bastón.

Per Us Weekly, the 44-year-old shared:

“The one thing I did not expect when Santi was born was the amount of anxiety I was going to have about the world. Like, everything affects me now: the news, articles and climate change. Everything scares me, and my anxiety has just gone through the roof going, ‘Oh, my God, I have a better place!’ So, it’s made my philanthropic work more intense.”

She continued:

“It brought an insane intensity. I’m like, ‘We have to save the world! Oh, my God!’ I didn’t expect that. Of course, I do charity work and I do philanthropies, but now it just means so much more.”

Longoria shut down the idea that this new mindset is “debilitating,” and noting that it has been “healing” for her. She admitted (below):

“Sometimes the world’s issues are so big you feel paralyzed. But I think that’s the misconception is that you have to be rich and famous to do something. And for me, every single person can do something. Like recycling or doing a charity event like this. There’s many levels of helping and doing, and so yeah, it’s sometimes overwhelming and paralyzing at the thought, but once you start doing, it’s easy.”

In 2012, the Dora and the Lost City Of Gold star established her foundation to empower the Latino community through entrepreneurship and education resources. While the actress has been focused on her philanthropic efforts in recent years, something she wasn’t too focused on in the past was becoming a mother. Shortly after the news broke of her pregnancy, a source shared with People:

“She loves kids, but it’s not something she focused on.”

But what made Eva change her mind? The confidant elaborated:

“Meeting Pepe and becoming a stepmom made her more open to the idea… She loves his kids and now they’re really excited to be expanding the family.”

And we’re so glad she became open to the idea! Her little boy is the sweetest!!

Prince Andrew talks Jeffrey Epstein friendship in BBC interview

Published

on

After denying that he had a relationship with one of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged “sex slaves” when she was 17, Britain’s Prince Andrew sat down with the BBC to share his memory – or lack thereof – of meeting accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

During the taped interview that aired Saturday, the royal said he has “no recollection” of the photo of him and Giuffre being taken. The picture shows Andrew with his arm around Giuffre at the London home of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s alleged “recruiter,” who is seen in the background.

Shocking headlines – and pictures – popped up in January 2015 when Giuffre, 35, alleged in court documents that she was groomed by Epstein and his associates to sexually service Epstein’s powerful friends when she was a teenager.

She asserted she was compelled to have sex with Andrew three times, in New York, the U.S. Virgin Islands and in London, starting when she was 17. At the time, Buckingham Palace issued multiple emphatic statements denying Andrew had any relationship or sexual contact with Giuffre.

“I take very, very few photographs. I am not one to, as it were, hug, and public displays of affection are not something that I do,” Andrew told BBC reporter Emily Maitlis. “So that’s the best explanation I can give you and I’m afraid to say that I don’t believe that photograph was taken in the way that has been suggested.”

Later in 2015, a federal judge in Florida called Giuffre’s claims “immaterial” and irrelevant to the case at issue and threw them out. But when Epstein was arrested this summer and charged with new sex crimes, Giuffre’s allegations surged back into headlines. And the palace again issued statements rejecting her claims.

During the interview, Andrew maintained his denial of having sex with Giuffre. He also denied dining and dancing with her in March 2001, saying he was instead at home with his children.

“I was at home, I was with the children and I’d taken Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking for a party at I suppose sort of 4 or 5 in the afternoon,” he said. “And then because the Duchess was away, we have a simple rule in the family that when one is away the other one is there.”
