Mandy Moore Announces First New Album in 11 Years, Shares Song: Listen

Published

on

Mandy Moore has announced her first new album since 2009’s Amanda Leigh. Silver Landings is out March 6 via Verve Forecast. Check out “Save a Little For Yourself” below, and find her slate of North American tour dates on her website. The Mike Viola-produced album features her husband, Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith, and Rilo Kiley’s Jason Boesel.

Moore said of the new song in a statement:

Sometimes writing a song feels like giving myself the advice I know I
need the most and it’s often the hardest to heed. It makes the song
almost a mantra of sorts—something I know I’ll continue learning
because it bears repeating.

‘Save a Little for Yourself’ is sort of the other half of a love song
that we don’t always talk about or acknowledge. Sure, we should open
ourselves up, let people in and love them as wholly as possible but
none of that carries any water if we’re not taking care of ourselves
first and foremost. It might not be as romantic, but it’s an equally
important part of the equation.

Moore, who has stayed busy as an actress in recent years, returned to music in September with the release of “When I Wasn’t Watching.” Her song “I’d Rather Lose” and the announcement of a 2020 tour followed.

In February 2019, Moore was among the women to come forward in a New York Times report outlining multiple allegations of abuse against Ryan Adams. Moore and Adams were married for six years, and in her interview with the Times, Moore claimed that Adams’ “psychologically abusive” actions caused her to put her music career on hold. Among other things, she claimed Adams discouraged her from working with multiple figures in the music industry. “His controlling behavior essentially did block my ability to make new connections in the industry during a very pivotal and potentially lucrative time—my entire mid-to-late 20s,” she said. Adams’ lawyer denied that Adams stopped Moore from working with other producers and was supportive of her “well-deserved professional success.”

On an episode of WTF With Marc Maron, Moore further elaborated on how her relationship with Adams affected her work. “I would do things here or there, but it would become abundantly clear while I was working, things would completely fall apart at home,” she said. “I couldn’t do my job because there was a constant stream of trying to pay attention to this person who needed me and wouldn’t let me do anything else.”

Nothing stronger than a mother’s love for her child.

Charlize Theron has had a successful, long career as a Hollywood movie star, but her favorite role yet is being a mom. The actress sat down with W Magazine‘s podcast Five Things with Lynn Hirschberg podcast to talk about her life, career and family life in an in-depth chat. She’s mom to two kids, Jackson Theron and August Theron, both adopted. She opened up about what it was like meeting her daughter for the very first time and all the emotions she was feeling.

“I vividly remember seeing Jackson through a window. I got out of the car and I saw her through the window. Someone was holding her and my heart just jumped out of my body and I almost couldn’t catch it,” she shared. “It is just a visceral, emotional feeling that the fact that I’m keeping my shit together right now is so impressive.”

“Yeah it’s really incredible it’s really incredible and the second time around I remember I had to wait for two hours to meet her it was the worst two hours of my life and I met her and she looked like a little lizard,” she continued. “I’ll never forget it. She had severe eczema she was just covered and I remember the woman that was looking after her and she was like she looks a little rough. This is my baby! I was meant to have this little lizard baby!”

Charlize also took some time to reflect about her journey not only as an actress, but on how therapy has helped her stay connected to her South African roots. “It was good for me, glad I ended up in therapy,” she explained. “I think it helps me with the work I do there now it helps me stay connected because emotionally I feel like I am still connected so it’s a good way for me to balance my relationship with my country, the people I feel so connected with, to do a better job down there.”

ดี๊ดี (UNEXPECTED)

[Verse1]
see ya smile got me going damm
you are changing my whole life
you and me we got the same vibe

[Hook]

I can’t believe it
Do do doo doo .. Do do doo doo .. Do do
I can’t believe it
Do do doo doo .. Do do doo doo .. Do do
Oh….o

[Verse2]
baby you’re the one
I got u baby don’t worry ,don’t worry

[Hook]
I can’t believe it

[Bridge]

[Hook]
I can’t believe it
Do do doo doo .. Do do doo doo .. Do do

I can’t believe it
Do do doo doo .. Do do doo doo
I can’t believe it

Tinder To Add Panic Button Feature For Dates Gone Wrong

Published

on

By

#Roommates, if you’re a member of a dating app, chances are you’ve had a bad date or two—well, Tinder (one of the most popular dating apps) is now introducing a panic button feature for extra protection in case your date takes a dangerous turn.

@RollingStone reports, a new series of safety features are being introduced on Tinder, with the most note-worthy being a panic button, to better protect users if they feel unsafe during a date. The new features are set to arrive by the end of January and powered by security app Noonlight, which Tinder’s parent company, Match Group, recently purchased a stake in. The same safety features will also appear on Match Group’s other dating apps, such as OKCupid and PlentyOfFish.

The Noonlight security features for Tinder will begin with a profile badge, which allows users to log in certain details about their dates, including the time, location and information about the person they are meeting. Noonlight will then share this information with authorities if the alarm is triggered. Once it’s triggered, users will be asked to enter a code, if they don’t, a dispatcher will text them. If a user doesn’t respond to the text, they will receive a phone call and if the call is also ignored, emergency services will be alerted.

It’s important to note that, for the alarm feature to work, users will have to allow their location to be tracked while on a date. However, Tinder stresses that user location data would not be sold to third-party affiliates or used for other marketing purposes.

Mandy Ginsberg, CEO of Match Group, had this to say of the new features:

“You should run a dating business as if you are a mom. I think a lot about safety, especially on our platforms, and what we can do to curtail bad behavior. There are a lot of things we tell users to do. But if we can provide tools on top of that, we should do that as well.”

Tinder also plans to debut new verification services to ensure that users actually look like their photos. The focus on safety comes after Tinder has faced intense criticism for not protecting users following multiple reports of murders and sexual assaults that have occurred through dates made through the app.

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
