Matthew Perry makes a rare cameo on Courteney Cox’s Instagram: ‘Real friends’

Published

Courteney Cox had a very special Friend make a cameo in her Instagram feed on Thursday: Matthew Perry.

“Guess who I had lunch with today,” she wrote, “ I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #realfriends.”

The characters Cox, 55, and Perry, 50, played on the show, Monica and Chandler, were of course romantically entwined on their long-running NBC show, and became parents in the finale.

Their Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow commented on the social media snapshot — as did others, including Allison Janney, Christa B. Miller and Eric Stonestreet.

Some even asked about the twins.

While there are lots of Friends reunions — on Thursday night, Cox and Lisa Kudrow helped honor Jennifer Aniston as she received the Artists Inspiration Award at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 4th Annual Patron of the Artists Awards — Perry typically isn’t among them. His last red carpet was in 2017 — and that year was also the last time we saw him on-screen.

However, Perry was there when all six Friends co-stars caught up. Aniston shared the photo — also including Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer — when she recently joined Instagram

Perry, who has long struggled with addiction, has had health woes he’s been dealing with. Last year, he was hospitalized for three months while recovering from surgery for a gastrointestinal perforation.

In June, photos of him looking “disheveled” with unkempt fingernails while out in NYC raised concern from fans. However, he humorously responded to the chatter, making a joke about needing a manicure.

Over 70 emerging brands to launch on QVC and HSN in 2020

Published

Qurate Retail Group-owned shopping networks QVC and HSN will be launching over 70 new brands discovered through their nationwide search, “The Big Find”, before the end of this year. The newcomers will be offering shoppers cosmetics, jewelry and accessories, among other products.

21 new beauty brands, including Act & Acre, Mented Cosmetics, Alkaglam and Follain, will be making their debut on the two platforms in 2020, along with seven jewelry brands, such as Valencia Key Jewelry and Taudrey, and seven accessories brands, including Have Some Fun Today.

Being featured by QVC and HSN, which operate through broadcasts, websites, apps and social pages, represents an important growth opportunity for the emerging brands, offering a completely different kind of exposure from that which a business could achieve by having its products stocked by a brick-and-mortar store or a transactional e-commerce site.

“As the pioneers of video commerce and brand storytelling, we’ve launched or nurtured some of the nation’s most successful entrepreneurial brands, such as IT Cosmetics, Tatcha, Junior’s Cheesecake, Korres, and others,” commented Mary Campbell, Qurate Retail Group’s chief merchandising officer and QVC U.S.’s chief commerce officer, in a release.

“By supporting entrepreneurs, we continue to bring customers innovative new brands, often with a high degree of exclusivity,” she added. “We’re constantly on the hunt for promising entrepreneurs with compelling products.”

The Big Find was launched in June 2019, attracting over 650 applicants from the U.S. and 12 other countries, including South Africa, Australia, Singapore, South Korea and India.

These entrepreneurs were whittled down to 270 semi-finalists, who met QVC and HSN buyers in August, with each applicant being given 10 minutes to make their pitch.

Not only will the winning entrepreneurs see their products featured on QVC and HSN, but they will also receive mentoring sessions from the founders and brand leaders that make up the platforms’ vendor community, including the people behind brands such as Mally Beauty, Laura Geller, Vionic shoes and Beauty Bioscience.

Founded in 1982, HSN reaches some 96 million households with its broadcasts and features more than 50,000 product videos on its website. QVC was founded in 1986 and currently has retail operations in the U.S., the UK, Germany, Japan and Italy, as well as a joint venture in China.

Jennifer Lawrence is Heading Back to Our Screens This Year

Published

Ready. For. This.

Jennifer Lawrence is making her silver screen comeback this year, it has been confirmed.

After taking a much-earned break away from the spotlight to focus on other projects (and get married), the Academy Award-winning actress will be back in front of the camera again as early as April. Lawrence has been confirmed to play one of two leads in Adam McKay’s forthcoming comedy film Don’t Look Up which will premiere on Netflix later this year.

In addition to Jen’s participation, the only other thing we know about the film is the plot: Two low-level astronomers embark on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy planet earth, as per Deadline.

McKay, who is also an Oscar winner (he’s one half of the team behind 2016’s Best Adapted Screenplay winner The Big Short), said of Lawrence’s casting: “I’m so thrilled to make this movie with Jen Lawrence. She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite talent’. And the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.”

In addition to Don’t Look Up, the Silver Linings Playbook actress has a handful of other roles in the works, too, including an untitled film for A24 and Scott Rudin Productions, Mob Girl (in which she will star and produce), and Bad Blood – she and McKay will team up again for this one – in which Lawrence will portray disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

And whilst we’re obviously excited about the movies, it’s really the press tours we’re most looking forward to TBH.

Gwyneth Paltrow hosts celebrity friends at makeup-free dinner

Published

on

When Gwyneth Paltrow invites you to a party, you go — even if she stipulates that you can’t wear makeup.

Some of the Goop founder’s celebrity friends, including Demi Moore, Rachel Zoe, and Kate Hudson, were among the women who took her up on the offer for the Wednesday night event. Musician Samantha Ronson, artist Alexandra Grant, who happens to be Keanu Reeves’s girlfriend, designers and other Hollywood types were part of the guest list, too. They gathered to eat and drink wearing fancy clothes, as they usually would be for a dinner with friends, but without the cosmetics, at least for the most part.

All of them looked incredible, and incredibly happy, as evidenced by the many photos they snapped and posted on Instagram.

Moore declared afterward on Instagram that she felt “so nourished and full of joy.”

The Ghost star added, “Beauty is more than what you see, it is what you feel.”

Designer Zoe explained that she typically doesn’t leave the house without quickly applying makeup, so she felt “totally naked and insecure” to be out with a clean face. However, she had obviously gotten past that.

“Thank you my friend for encouraging confidence in being our most natural selves at every age,” Zoe captioned a photo from the evening.

The women’s appearances earned rave reviews.

Actress Rebecca Gayheart commented on Zoe’s post, “I love this so much and you look beautiful.”

“You all look better without makeup!” @stevenhoeppner replied to Paltrow’s snapshot. “Well done!”

“I adore the idea of a makeup free dinner,” added @tamaranycc. “It reminds me of @neneleakes weave free dinner. Sometimes it’s good to remember that we can just show up as ourselves.”

Another commenter, @tinakrohnphoto, summed it up: “Brilliant idea for a gathering.”

While it wasn’t the main attraction, food was part of the evening. According to ET, Paltrow and her friends enjoyed a dinner of King Salmon steaks, chicken with roast grapes, sweet potato fries and long-cooked kale. Ketel One botanical spritz cocktails and mini citrus naked cakes were also on the menu.
