‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Movie Debuts New & Improved Character Design Following Massive Fan Backlash!

Published

on

The new Sonic the Hedgehog movie just got a major, much-anticipated makeover!

When the first trailer for the Sega video game-inspired film arrived earlier this year, it was immediately met with criticism over the famous cartoon’s unfamiliar, creepy, and human-like appearance.

However, on Tuesday, Paramount Pictures dropped a fresh preview for the live-action/CGI hybrid feature and it’s clear Sonic underwent some huge changes that have already sparked another frenzy among fans!

The electric blue hedgehog no longer boasts human-looking legs, teeth, and white hands. Instead, it now favors the traditional drawing with larger, more animated eyes, white gloves, a smoother face, and thin legs — bringing its creep factor down to a much more palpable level.

Get a good look at the new Sonic in our featured image (above) and in the revamped trailer (below):

Wow. Impressive!

You’ll notice the clip shared many of the same scenes the original one did while teasing the mayhem that ensues when the fictional creature (played by Ben Schwartz) teams up with policeman Tom Wachowski (played by James Marsden) to bring down an evil villain (played by Jim Carrey) who wants to use Sonic’s power to take over the world.

But the storyline aside, we’re still shaking in our boots over how good the character looks!

It’s been seven months since director Jeff Fowler announced there would be visual adjustments made to the movie back in April following the initial backlash. Shortly after the revamp began in May, he tweeted:

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear. You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast.”

He also added the Sonic-verse flick would be delayed a while to make the changes and it’s currently slated to hit theaters on Valentine’s Day 2020.

With three months to go until then, Fowler took to Twitter to share the happy update with followers, writing:

“Today is the DAY! Could not be more excited to share our new Sonic with you. THANK YOU for your patience and support. This wouldn’t have been possible without the fans. #SonicMovie.”

Judging by the spirited reactions, we’d say people are loving what they see so far! See some of the best replies (below):

We want to hear from YOU too, Perezcious readers! Are y’all feeling Sonic’s improved look?

Page exits Ted Baker, lower sales mean business review

Published

on

By

Times are tough at Ted baker and when that happens, CEOs are in the firing line. So it was perhaps no surprise that the company announced just ahead of its trading update on Tuesday that chief executive Lindsay Page is stepping down immediately. Rachel Osborne, who had become CFO only last month, is now acting CEO.

Ted Baker

Page had himself been acting CEO after the ‘hug-gate’ scandal involving company founder Ray Kelvin forced him to step down last year. But Despite Page’s 22-year association with the retailer and the feeling that he was a safe pair of hands, the firm’s results have continued to be less than impressive.

The company got straight to the point in its trading update and said it has scaled back its pre-tax profit expectations for the year to January 25 to a range between a lowly £5 million and a potential £10 million, “dependent on Christmas trading and final year-end review”.

It added that trading over November and the Black Friday period was “below expectations, with lower-than-anticipated margins and sell-through” and “that difficult trading conditions will continue, and therefore it is appropriate to take a more cautious outlook for the remainder of the financial year”.

It wasn’t exaggerating when it said “the last 12 months has undoubtedly been the most challenging in our history,” but it seems to remain confident that the Ted Baker brand remains “well supported by our customers, partners and trustees and we appreciate their ongoing support”.

It also said it’s taking the necessary immediate actions to address underperformance and improve efficiencies across the wider group “and [we] are confident that these will return the group to a stronger position and continue the brand’s long-term development”.

In the short tern, this means a cost, efficiency and business model review conducted by independent consultants Alix Partners, and a suspension of the dividend.

WEAK SALES

What prompted all this was the fact that, despite its No Ordinary Shoes acquisition that should have boosted revenue, group revenue in the 17 weeks to December 7 actually fell 0.3% to £203.8 million, or 1.2% currency-neutral. On an organic basis (that is, without the impact of acquisitions and disposals), it was down 3.1%, or 3.9% currency-neutral.

The firm’s Retail division fell 5.7% to £143 million (-6.4% currency-neutral), while Wholesale rose 15.1% to £60.8 million (+13.7% currency-neutral). But organic Wholesale revenue rose only 1.9%, (although at least it was an increase, boosted by the firm’s move to monthly product drops).

The Wholesale figure was almost the only piece of good news and even e-commerce sales fell 0.7%, although they now represent a larger 31% of the firm’s total revenue. Despite issues in the UK and Europe, its US e-tail has been powering ahead with a 28.9% currency-neutral rise on its own site.

So, with the search for a new CEO due to start next month, the future for Ted Baker remains unclear. 2020 will undoubtedly be a make or break year for the firm.

IED Istituto Europeo di Design Barcellona: la collezione di Carla Alberch

Published

By

Carla, cosa si prova a far parte di “Fashioners of the world”?

Khloé Kardashian Clarifies Everybody’s Contract Status Amid Questions About The Future Of ‘KUWTK’

Published

Khloé Kardashian is clarifying everything amid ALL the juicy KUWTK drama this week.

The Good American founder took to social media late Sunday evening to answer questions from fans during one of the rockiest, most controversial episodes of Keeping Up in recent memory. And as it turns out, Khloé’s reveals sure make it seem like Kourtney Kardashian‘s departure from the show may come with major money movements!

True Thompson‘s momma made clear that contractual issues will come into play wit Kourt’s exit after a fan asked her about it during the tweet-along the reality TV star often does while the episode airs.

As you can see (below), Khlo-money confirmed that while Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner have different contracts for their appearances on the fam’s reality show, Kourtney, Khloé, and Kim Kardashian West are all held to one identical standard across the group:

The fact all three women have the same contract isn’t really surprising; 40-year-old Kourt, 39-year-old Kim, and 35-year-old Khloé have all starred in the E! reality TV series since 2007 when it premiered — and by now, all three have long since become executive producers of the show.

To that end, then, one wonders what buyout or exemption would potentially be in store for Kourtney upon her quitting the show. Will she still serve as an executive producer? How will Kris Jenner continue to divide up all the money once her oldest moves on?! (Believe us on this, you KNOW the momager has long had a plan for this very day!)

Kourtney has mentioned wanting the “private moments” in her life back. Honestly, we get it. / (c) Kourtney Kardashian/Instagram

Business or not, it still appears to be all love between the Kardashian sisters, thankfully.

Just hours after the live-tweeting last night, Khloé also graced everybody’s timeline with this little gem, reminding us about what’s REALLY important here:

Awww! Well said, girl!

Where Does ‘KUWTK’ Go From Here?!

We’d be remiss not to wonder about the future of the reality show in general, considering Kourt’s all-but-for-sure departure. Forget the contracts: what about the fans? The fame? The television royalty? For years, this was the KarJenner’s main vehicle into our homes and hearts each week on E! — until, more recently, social media took over the game and all the sisters launched their respective beauty and clothing empires.

Maybe the show has grown stale and outdated. Heck, with Netflix, Disney +, and YouTube, who’s watching cable TV any more, ya know?! Maybe a few years from now, we’ll look back on the momma of three’s departure as the beginning of the end for one of the most successful reality TV series of all time. Crazy!!

What do U think about all this, Perezcious readers?! How is Kris going to re-work the girls’ contracts now??
